History

Helenekilde is more than a hotel. It is an atmosphere and a home. A home that welcomes its’ guests in an unpretentious and relaxed way. We always put the guest at the centre and focus on quiet luxury, good food and comfortable and beautiful surroundings.
Helenekilde was originally intended to be a private home. It was built as a summer home by construction magnate Mr. Grüner, who gave the beautiful house to his wife in 1896.
In 1904 it was converted into a summer and seaside boarding house and named Helenekilde Badehotel.
The Kølpin family bought Helenekilde in 2001. The building was thoroughly renovated in 2008 by former ballet dancer Alexander Kølpin, who carefully furnished and preserved the beautiful house. Alexander focused on creating an atmosphere that is true to the natural surroundings and history of the place, while maintaining the feeling of visiting a warm, private home. The hotel is open all year long.
